Mental and Emotional Health are often used interchangeably when describing inner feelings.
The World Health Organisation define ‘mental health as a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community’.
Emotional health is how we think and feel and the ability to express what we are feeling.
Recently, there are news reports about many people suffering from their mental health since the Covid Pandemic. This not only affects that individual as they continue to try and cope with their day to day tasks, but it can also eventually affect their work, family life and their health mentally, physically and emotionally. Stress can affect you both emotionally and physically, and it can affect the way you behave.
