Mental and Emotional Health are often used interchangeably when describing inner feelings.
The World Health Organisation define ‘mental health as a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community’.
Emotional health is how we think and feel and the ability to express what we are feeling.
Recently, there are news reports about many people suffering from their mental health since the Covid Pandemic. Eventually, physical signs and symptoms may well appear and include a lack of sleep, fatigue, muscle tension, shallower breathing, headaches and aches and pains.

The Emotional Freedom Techniques addresses the emotional component under the stress. The research for the Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is becoming more and more well known for calming the ‘stress response’ the fight, flight or freeze response. The stress response is important to keep us safe but it is on high alert nowadays as life becomes increasingly stressful. EFT changes the stress response by helping to alleviate and often eliminate the emotional disturbance underneath an issue. This is done by using a tapping technique on acupressure points and at the same time talking through or visualising the current, persistent issue which is causing the stress. EFT is an effective self-help technique that is taught during a session and can be continued at home. EFT is a non-invasive and gentle technique that is showing it is effective in stressful, overwhelming situations whether past or present.
